29 May International Yoga Day: Spreading the Blessings of Yoga
Yoga is a tradition that’s been around for thousands of years, originally from India. The concept of yoga is first mentioned in ancient Indian texts like the Vedas and the Upanishads. Its goal is to bring the individual soul (atman) into alignment with the universal soul (Brahman) and to harmonize the body, mind, and spirit.
In honor of International Yoga Day, we’re sharing this article with anyone who wants to make positive changes in their lives through yoga.
As yoga has evolved, the word has come to encompass a range of practices (Ashtanga, Bikram, Hatha, Iyengar, Jivamukti, Karma, Kriya, Kundalini, Power, Raja, Pranava, Restorative yoga, Yin, Vinyasa, Zen yoga) including physical exercises (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), meditation, and lifestyle guidance.
Why Would You, as a Yoga Practitioner, Have an Interest in the Egely Wheel?
The Egely Wheel was created in 1994 by engineer and researcher George Egely. It’s a great way to see how much bio-energy the human body emits. His invention showed how George Egely was thinking outside the box when it came to scientific exploration and also paved the way for new research in bioenergy fields.
- Using the Egely Wheel can increase the flow of energy throughout your body, promoting greater well-being and deeper relaxation.
- It helps increase mental focus so you can practice yoga and meditation more effectively.
- It is easy to incorporate into your daily practice, whether you are a beginner or an advanced practitioner.
This device is probably the most serious toy or the most playful serious thing you have ever met. -Dr George Egely

Why Do We Celebrate Yoga?
In 2014, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the answer to the big problems we’re facing today is to change how we live, what we value, and how we think. That’s exactly what yoga is about.
Thanks to his efforts, the United Nations decided that yoga would symbolize and be a method for the beneficial shaping of consciousness, the elimination of suffering, and peaceful living. The first International Yoga Day was held on June 21, 2015, and it will continue in 2024.
Yoga’s popularity is clear from the fact that this was the most supported proposal in the UN’s history, with 175 countries backing India’s submission. The General Assembly voted overwhelmingly in favor, including the five permanent members of the UN Security Council. What’s more, it was the first initiative to be established in record time: less than ninety days passed between the proposal and its adoption.
The Power of Yoga
Yoga is more than just staying in certain positions for a long time. It’s also about staying calm and collected in different situations. It teaches you to know and accept yourself and the world around you.
But this ancient knowledge hasn’t always been easy to find. It’s been quite a journey from India to the West so that we can all enjoy this profound art of movement worldwide.
No matter where we come from or what we believe, yoga brings us together as practitioners. International Yoga Day is proof that yoga is a universal language that transcends all social, cultural and religious boundaries.
Take a moment to reflect on your own life and the wonderful people you’ve met through yoga. You’ve probably made some great friends who help and enrich each other’s lives. These yogic relationships are great in and of themselves.
However, you can also set an inspiring and beautiful example for your family, friends, colleagues, and entire environment with the positive changes you have achieved through a yogic lifestyle.
Sharing the Gift of Yoga with the World
But one thing is for sure, it can change your life, as advocated by Narendra Modi, the initiator of International Yoga Day. He was introduced to yoga at a young age and says he still owes it a lot, which is why he believes it is important to spread it as widely as possible.
The benefits of yoga go beyond your well-being. It is a symbol and a method for transforming consciousness in a positive direction, eliminating suffering, and living a peaceful life. Therefore, it is important to share what you receive from yoga with others so that this blessing can be extended to as many souls as possible.
And if you’d like to take your yoga practice to the next level and experience a fantastic sense of transformation, we recommend the Egely Wheel, which one of our customers described as “the perfect gift for a yoga instructor that is related to fitness“.
