Telekinesis Myths and Legends

The first modern case of telekinesis was recorded in France involving the 14-year-old Angelica Cotten. On an evening in January 1846, Angelica and three friends were knitting. Suddenly, a kerosene lamp flew into the corner. The girls blamed Angelica, saying strange things always happened in her presence.

Angelica’s parents decided they could make good money from her abilities by putting on a talent show. After one show, the scientist Francois Arago became interested in the girl. When Arago touched the hand of the girl, he felt a shock as if he had touched an electric current. Strangely enough, compass arrows did not react to her presence. Most of the objects moved by Angelica were not made of metal, suggesting that it wasn’t magnetism that allowed her to move objects.

In 1888, the Italian physician Ercole Chiaia from Naples described the abilities of one of the mediums, Eusapia Palladino: “A woman attracts various objects like a magnet, lifting them into the air. Eusapia also plays musical instruments without touching them with her hands.

What is Telekinesis?

Telekinesis is the ability to influence objects with the power of the mind. Telekinesis is the most fascinating psychophysical phenomenon of all. Some scientists believe that the effect on surrounding objects is due to very strong physical fields. It should be noted that telekinesis generates electromagnetic fields and sometimes acoustic signals. There is another view that the effect is caused by mental effort. In this case, thought is regarded as an immaterial substance capable of influencing material entities.

See How to Practice Telekinesis with a simple device.

It is difficult to study this phenomenon because it rarely occurs in its explicit form and even people who are able to do it are unable to explain how it is done.

Scientists say that experiments on telekinesis should not be carried out for too long, as its manifestation is associated with strong energy tensions that can be harmful to one’s health. During telekinesis, mental processes are activated and blood pressure rises. After the experiment, the subject is in a normal mental and physical state for a long time.

It should be noted that telekinesis, like many other great powers, occurs as a result of stress and shock. This confirms the theory of hidden reserves in the human brain.

The Austrians Willy and Rudi Schneider lifted tissue paper into the air, during the flight it changed shape as if there were a hand inside it. Fingerprints were clearly visible. During the Schneider brothers’ sessions, objects moved around the room, but no one touched them. The famous writer Thomas Mann watched as the bell on the floor levitated into the air and rang. Psychologist Albert Freiherr conducted a total of 120 experiments to study Willie and Rudy’s abilities.

Boris Ermolaev – the Soviet cameraman held various objects in his hands, then let them go, leaving them floating in space. There are photographs that clearly show the hanging of cigarettes and matchboxes in the air. Most interestingly, Ermolaev was able to swing the matches falling out of the box into the air.

Geller Effect

The “Geller effect” is a term coined by the scientists who observed Uri Geller, who was born in Tel Aviv in 1946. Four-year-old Uri used his mind to bend metal spoons and forks. In 1972, Stanford Institute physicists Russell Targ and Harold Puthoff became interested in Uri Geller. The scientists were impressed by Geller’s clairvoyant ability. They said he could read minds and bend metal objects with his eyes.

Today, telekinesis is studied at Princeton University (USA) under the direction of Professor Robert Jan. Scientists have proven that a person with a psychic ability can influence material objects. Thousands of experiments involving hundreds of people prove that telekinesis is not fiction. The task of a group is to mentally influence the swinging of a pendulum placed under a glass cover. Five out of a hundred subjects do this at any given time, the rest – in certain cases.

Scientists are sure that all of us possess this ability, at least latently.

There is no concrete proof that telekinesis exists, but there is no harm in trying. If you want to understand the concept, you need to meditate, learn to discipline your mind, and train yourself to visualize different objects. Clear your mind and visualize the subject in all its details and then try to connect with it. Focus clearly on how you want to move the object and then communicate your intention to it. Think of it like making pancakes. The first one is always patchy, so please be patient and keep practicing your skills daily.

Steps to practice Telekinesis

Focus your thoughts

Trust in telekinesis. It’s impossible to get good results if you have doubts. If you convince yourself that nothing is going to happen, even on a subconscious level, then that’s exactly what will happen. Therefore, the first step is to convince yourself that moving objects is possible through the power of thought.

Focus on the connection between you and the object. When you learn to control your thoughts and visualize objects, focus on the energy that connects you to the outside world. Imagine matter and energy moving through you, through other objects, and through all the spaces around you. Try to see how the boundaries between you and the objects dissolve, how you become part of the same system.

The fundamental concept of telekinesis: you and the object are one. If you try to move an object, learn to see and believe in this relationship.

Focus on the desired movement

Be clear about what actions you want to perform on the subject. What movement do you need to make? Do you want to pull, push, move, rotate an object? Focus on the subject and imagine how it will move.

Imagine only one kind of movement. Don’t get distracted and try to imagine different possibilities. Focus your intention on the object. Keep your focus on the target. Send your intention to it, as if you were moving your arm or leg. Don’t let your mind wander. You need to think of only one kind of movement. You are one with the object, so move it like any other part of the body.

Don’t be discouraged if your first attempts fail. Keep improving your mind control skills and do telekinetic exercises.

Perform telekinetic exercises

Learn to feel the energy flowing through your body. Tense all the muscles in your arm from shoulder to fist for 10-15 seconds, then relax your arm completely. Pay attention to the sensations as you gather, direct and release energy. With these sensations, you can direct the force better to an object and learn how to move it with the power of thought.

Oneness with an object is the foundation of telekinesis, so it is important to feel and understand the energy that makes up such a connection.

Alternative exercises

Do 2-3 exercises a day to keep up. Start with meditation and imagine entering the desired state. Try spinning a psi wheel, controlling a candle flame, bending a spoon or fork, or moving a pen or pencil with your mind power.

A variety of exercises will help you avoid boredom and frustration. Exercise for 20 minutes and make the total training session an hour a day.

This idea of telekinesis creates myths that do not correspond to reality and distort the concept of this phenomenon.

The 3 most common myths about telekinesis

    1. The existence of telekinesis has been proven by objective scientific research.
    2. Telekinesis can be learned as a special skill.
    3. Telekinesis should be included in the list of all self-made magicians’ skills.

A brief explanation of the above

1. Proof of the existence of telekinesis

Sometimes it is enough to see an image of a moving object on a TV screen to immediately believe in the existence of telekinesis, and to think that “I have seen it – that means it is real“.

SA Mazurkevich, author of the book “The Encyclopedia of Delusions: And Healers“, gives the following example: “Many of our (and not our) phenomena have shown their abilities for telekinesis. For example, at the end of the 80s, the then-famous psychic Valery Avdeev was moving a cigarette on the table. But this is what the illusionist Boris Sagitov says about this miracle:

“Everyone then groaned, gasped, but the trick was a very primitive one. A magnet was inserted into the cigarette, and a wire was sewn into the sleeves of his jacket … Once he gape at a concert, and the cigarette almost “stuck” to his sleeve – he pulled it back in time. We magicians, then all clutched at our tummies with laughter, seeing how the people with bulging eyes looked at everything. But you need to know when to stop! Well, since the audience was fooled, two, that’s enough, by God. “

No matter how many examples of the movement of objects without physical contact are shown on television, no matter how many articles about various phenomenal people get published, the phenomenon of telekinesis is still not substantiated by objective scientific research. Various experiments carried out under the supervision of scientists have shown that the subjects often used devices that work on the basis of magnetism. For example, in the famous experiment with Kulagina, the subject made the compass needle turn with the help of a small magnet sewn into the clothes.

Nina Kulagina allegedly used a magnet for cheating

Naturally, cases of telekinesis are not limited to such “phenomena“. But here’s what’s interesting: almost all psychics who claim to have the ability to telekinesis refuse to confirm this in special experiments in the presence of objective observers and scientists.

Many of them refer to the fact that they are forbidden by God. But such excuses are simply groundless. After all, these psychics in one way or another have earned their gift, and many, speaking in public, are very good. One may ask a question: why should they prove something then? The answer is simple – also for the sake of money, because several scientific institutes in America and a society of skeptics from Australia, as well as organizations from other countries, are ready to pay a psychic who has proven his abilities in the field of telekinesis a pretty decent amount of money. And that’s why it seems very strange that people voluntarily refuse to earn even more money by demonstrating their abilities to researchers.

2. Little known techniques will help you learn telekinesis

This is the second common myth. Nobody says that it is impossible to learn to move objects by the power of thought. But at the same time, even if telekinesis exists, it is natural that it is simply impossible to learn it in a short time. This will probably require special training, which the beginner will not have. And therefore, it is easier for newcomers to telekinesis to accuse the technique itself of inaction and take up another. This is the essence of this delusion.

3. Every self-respecting magician should have the ability to telekinesis

How to refute this delusion? Perhaps the fact that starting from the grimoires of the Middle Ages and ending with the works of White, Papus and Cavendish, which are practically classics of the occult, we will not come across a mention of telekinesis. But what if even these famous occultists did not consider this topic important and worthy of attention, and they themselves simply did not possess telekinetic abilities? The myth is destroyed by the facts themselves.

Telekinesis Questions and Answers

So much has been said about telekinesis. Some deny completely the possibility that a person can awaken special abilities. Some are skeptical on this point, but in the presence of fairly solid evidence, they leave space to be convinced.

Some probably believe that people can have special mental abilities that allow them to do things that most people cannot. Either way, people were talking about telekinesis and other paranormal abilities tens, hundreds and thousands of years ago.

But what is generally known about this skill? What is it? Well, whether telekinesis is fiction or reality, it’s definitely worth knowing about. So read this article. Here you can learn the basics of telekinesis, what it is and how you can try to learn it.

What is it?

The first fundamental question about this phenomenon is: what is it? Telekinesis is a supernatural ability that can supposedly be awakened in certain people. It represents the ability to move objects in space using the power of thought alone. This process does not involve any muscles in the body, meaning that you cannot physically interact with the object you are trying to move.

Many books have been written about telekinesis, scientists study it, and it’s frequently featured in science fiction books, films and TV shows, so you’ve probably heard of it. But there are some details that are rarely discussed openly.

Where did telekinesis come from?

As mentioned above, telekinesis is the ability to move objects using only the power of thought. However, this definition is extremely superficial because it is not clear what the power of thought is. Scientists have been trying for years to explain what moves the objects that telekinesis users influence.

Some believe that the powerful physical fields that some people can emit allow them to lift objects into the air or move them along a plane. Other scientists believe electromagnetic pulse fields are the cause. And others claim that the secret lies in acoustic signals, with durations calculated in hundredths of seconds.

But the most popular theory is the existence of psychokinetic energy, which allows people to act directly on objects without physical objects or impulses. Everyone has this energy, but it lies dormant in the depths of the subconscious, and if you want to awaken it, you have to practice a lot. This is what is discussed below.

You will find out how to learn telekinesis, what exercises are needed, and how long the process takes.

What is the abilities of the human brain?

Of course, this unusual theory has its critics, who believe that no such energy exists. They say that the human brain has been studied in detail, so there is no point in trying to make it into something it is not. However, keep in mind that decades ago, scientists said it was impossible to take a detailed picture of the brain. They did not know that the electronic signals in the brain could be seen in pictures or directly on a computer.

Now MRIs are a normal part of the medical field. The same can apply to many unproven abilities, such as telekinesis.

It is possible that the human brain still has some incredible secrets that are unknown to us now

It is quite possible that in a few decades’ time, this period will be remembered as a period of distrust in telekinesis, which was common all over the world at the time. The point is that the human brain is an incredible tool that can hold amazing secrets. All it needs to do is create the right conditions to make the most of it.

So, if you want to start to learn telekinesis, you must first open your mind. If you do not believe in the existence of telekinesis, you will certainly fail. Developing telekinesis will take a lot of time and effort on your part, but if you are determined to achieve your goal, you will have a good chance of success.

How to prepar the body and mind?

Before we discuss the specific exercises of telekinesis here, you need to undergo training that will enable you to tune your body to the desired wavelengths. Of course, the most important thing here is complete inner harmony and absolute calm. To achieve this state, several simple and popular techniques are recommended.

Woman is practicing meditation with the universe in background
Meditation is essential for the successful telekinesis training
    1. Meditation. Every day you should spend at least half an hour meditating, as this will allow you to tune your brain waves to the desired frequency, relax, let go of all your problems and concentrate on your main task.
    2. Visualization. You have to visualize different mental images and objects, concentrate on them and observe them for a long time. This allows you to develop “mental muscles” which you can later use to move objects with the power of thought.
    3. Self-confidence and a positive attitude. Remember that this is a very difficult task, so you will have to deal with failures and disappointments on a daily basis. You will only get the opportunity to gain incredible skills if you believe in success and keep moving forward. The incredible power of telekinesis is so great that it is truly worth the effort.

Moving emptiness

So now you understand that you have to leave your doubts behind. If you still have doubts, it’s best not to start training because you’re wasting your time. If you are fully committed to success, however, then start with a basic exercise that will shift the emptiness. To do this, you need to relax completely and look at one point.

Don’t focus on specific objects, as they can be distracting and you certainly won’t be able to move the object immediately. Concentrate on the empty space or the air and then start to imagine a specific area of emptiness that you want to mentally drag from one place to another. This should be done in a completely relaxed state. You should do this every day for the gradual build-up of skills and for the full effect.

Moving a sheet of paper

Telekinesis is the movement of objects without touching them, and air is not an object, so you need to do more than basic exercises to speed up your progress. For example, you can tear off a small piece of paper and place it in front of your eyes. The smaller the piece of paper is the better, because at first your telekinetic abilities will not be impressive enough to cope with an object as large as a whole piece of paper.

Gather all your mental energy and direct it at the piece of paper, trying to turn it with the power of your mind. You should focus entirely on this task and spend at least half an hour a day on it. Special skills experts say it is best to do this at night when there are fewer distractions.

paper sheets
To levitate or move a piece of paper, it is recommended to choose a paper with a thin material

Turning the paper cone

There are also higher-level exercises that are much more difficult, but also much more effective. For example, hang a cone of paper on a string, then stand a short distance away from it and begin to concentrate your psi energy into the solar plexus. When you feel energy where you’ve directed it, it’s time to move it to the fingers of your outstretched hand.

When you feel it in your hand, transfer it to your other hand, repeat several times, and place it back in your Solar Plexus. Repeat this exercise several times, and one last time, send energy to the fingers of the hand to try to turn the paper cone in the direction you have chosen.

Lifting hands

This is a rather unusual exercise to add variety to your training. The aim will be simple hand raising. It seems that nothing could be easier. However, there is a condition – you must not use your own muscles. Usually when you think of raising your arm, your brain sends a signal to the necessary muscles to perform this action.

You need to do the same, but exclude the muscles from this process. So you have to think about raising your arm and do it without using your muscles. This will also allow you to make good progress in developing telekinesis.

Other materials – spinning

Paper is the easiest material for a person wishing to learn telekinesis. Therefore, one should not concentrate only on this material, because there are more complex skills that one must learn in order to fully master telekinesis. Use items that have rotating elements. A great example is the compass, which is much more difficult to handle than paper. Accordingly, this exercise is for advanced practitioners and not for beginners.

After paper, start experimenting with other materials

However, there is an easier version of this exercise: use the Egely Wheel, which is also suitable for beginners. It rotates slowly with a minimum of mental effort, and for professionals it rotates quickly.

Changing the shape of an object

Once you have a new level of telekinesis, you can start to work on your unusual powers, focusing on changing the shape of any object. Of course, you may want to start with lighter materials, and gradually move on to heavier and denser ones. Either way, you should focus not on the object itself, but on its molecular structure, sending mental signals that you are able to change that structure.

If you repeat this many times in a row, your psi energy will gradually flow into the object of your choice, changing its shape, which will lead you to the summit of perfection. You will quickly find out that telekinesis will be much easier for you after such a difficult exercise.

Conclusions

So can objects be moved by thought? No one can give you a clear answer to this question, but if you want to learn telekinesis, you should definitely believe in it and continue the exercises described above.

The difficulty in forming a clear opinion about all kinds of paranormal and psychic abilities, which some people claim to have, is that a certain number of unexplained phenomena are observed at the same time, and these phenomena are scientifically inconsistent. In other words, there are certain cases which are called supernatural but which do not fit into the scope of what is required to be accepted as scientifically accepted. One of the clearest examples of this is the problem of telekinesis.

And yet they move?

There are quite a few described and documented cases where people have shown their telekinetic abilities. During the séances of the second half of the 19th century and the early 20th century there was initially widespread publicity of objects being moved by ghosts and spirits.

These are not the events worth mentioning. No scientific rules of observation were followed at the time, and they were almost all more or less clever hoaxes.

It’s best to start with recorded demonstrations of telekinesis in recent decades, either by a large gathering of observers or even under the conditions of scientific experiments. The well-known Israeli illusionist, Uri Geller, who was already active on television in the 1970s with his demonstrations of telekinetic abilities – mostly changing the shape of a spoon just by the power of thought… True, representatives of the professional community of illusionists claim that this is a simple trick, but Geller himself, who has gained great popularity, claims to be ready to carry out the necessary scientific research into the authenticity of his telekinesis.

Uri Geller, despite his debated abilities, is still very popular today

Among the modern cases, we heard the name of the Polish-born German “Magnet manMiroslaw Magola, who started with simple manifestations of paranormal abilities, such as attracting metal, wood, plastic and other objects to his body as magnets.

In the nineties, he began to appear on television shows with his showcase of telekinesis, using the power of thought to lift objects from the surface and levitate them in the air. There is still no consensus on the mechanism of his manipulation: skeptics are still convinced that it is a clever trick, but there is no generally accepted revelation.

There is no evidence of fraud in Miroslaw Magola's case either

Scientific opinion: telekinesis is impossible, but the cases are interesting

Perhaps the most famous example of the manifestation of telekinesis was the experiment involving Nina Kulagina, which were widely reported in the press and conducted in the Soviet Union in the 1960s and 1980s. Kulagina’s effect on objects was not just telekinesis (the simple movement of things) but psychokinesis, as during the experiments she wasn’t only moving objects on a surface by the power of thought, but also moved them in the air (for example, matchboxes or pieces of sugar); changing the acidity of water; changing the frequency of contractions and stopping the heart of a frog completely; separating egg yolks and whites by immersing them in water; leaving a certain visual image on a photographic plate, and so on.

Nina Kulagina is concentrating while doing psychokinesis
Nina Kulagina is the person who made it possible to talk more seriously about telekinesis

Given that this is the only case of a person performing similar effects under the conditions of a strictly scientific experiment, the Kulagina phenomenon is almost the only case where telekinesis can be discussed more or less seriously.

But even in this case, skepticism prevails among scientists: doubts are raised about the quality of scientific research, frauds and manipulations are proclaimed repeatedly, as in cases of magicians’ acts. However, no convincing evidence has been provided so far to prove that Kulagina was using trickery in the experiments. However, this does not prevent the scientific community as a whole from rejecting the possibility of the objective existence of telekinesis. Scientists believe that unique, currently unexplained cases, such as the Kulagina phenomenon, will find a solution as science progresses or as the circumstances of these cases are fully revealed, while drawing attention to the fundamental contradiction of telekinesis with the scientific picture of how the world is perceived.

Since telekinesis involves the application of a certain force to objects, which in Earth’s circumstances means only four types of interaction – weak nuclear, strong nuclear, gravitational and electromagnetic. In the case of strong and weak nuclear interaction, telekinesis is impossible – the radius of the impact is too small and simply does not allow humans to affect objects far away from them in any way. Gravitational interaction is also unassisted because the gravitational charge of man in the Earth’s atmosphere is extremely insignificant. The electromagnetic effect is also unable to produce such results: the human body simply does not have electrical charges with such capacity. As a result, in terms of science, humans simply do not have the ability to perform telekinesis or psychokinesis.
